National Advisors Trust Chosen by Trovena to Implement
Trust Representative Office Program

Trovena expands its trust services with National Advisors
Trust’s TRO program
and new private-labeled trust service,
Trovena Trust.

Overland Park, KS (June 6, 2011) – National Advisors Trust, the nation’s largest independent, RIA-owned trust company, today announced that it has been selected by Trovena, LLC, a Los Angeles-based RIA, to implement its Trust Representative Office (TRO) program.  As part of the TRO program’s comprehensive trust services, National Advisors Trust established Trovena Trust, a private-labeled trust services brand through which Trovena will market trust related services.

"Our clients have a growing need for trusts, and the TRO program from National Advisors Trust was by far the best option for us to expand our trust-focused services,” said Christopher Van Slyke, partner and co-founder of Trovena.  “Wealthy families used to be able to count on local community banks, who knew their clients, for personalized trust services. Now, many of these banks have disappeared due to mergers and that legacy of boutique trust service has been lost. We, along with support from National Advisors Trust, plan to reintroduce personalized community-based trust services, integrated with wealth management services and supported by an efficient, best-of-breed, open architecture platform, to our clients as their trusted investment advisor."

As a fee-only fiduciary firm, Trovena needed a trust solution that would allow it to be the primary interface for trust-related services in order to retain close alignment with clients.

Van Slyke continued, “Establishing Trovena Trust for the delivery of trust services in conjunction with National Advisors Trust delivers the best model for our clients and for us."

Ronald G. Ferguson, CEO of National Advisors Trust, commented, “Trusts will be a defining factor in the future success of RIAs. Trillions in assets will transfer to the next generation in the coming years and decades, and unless RIAs are specifically named in a trust document, there is a strong probability that the assets they manage today will transfer to the bank down the street or pass to the next generation without their involvement.  Embracing trusts is an essential strategy for RIAs to capture and retain assets for the long haul.”
